no it was sewn onto it. it looks like if you didnt want the flower u could cut the thread without damaging the band. not 100% sure tho :(

i put it on my daughter once but only for about 2 minutes. she always seems to wiggle all headbands over her eyes. thats why i'm getting rid of all of them. :)
