I would do free shipping if bids got high enough, but unfortunately this item is not that great so it would be hard to get that kind of competition. (I was thinking 3500 points since 1000 points is roughly $1.)
When I was new on listia, I offered stuff at 100 to 500 points to start and free shipping because less people bid on my stuff since they looked at how long you have been on the site. I also bid lower on people that had been here only a short while because I have had to go through the hassle of requesting my points back and then putting in a claim at paypal. If they did not take paypal and I sent them a check, that money was just gone (it often was too small of an amount to bother with a stop payment at the bank.) Then I increased the points and offered free shipping. Now, I ask people to pay for shipping and just list the lowest "free" point listing and just routinely go through my stuff for donations when the donation companies canvas our neighborhood with flyers for pick up days or I know that I am making a trip to the Catholic thrift shop (Twice is Nice) to buy stuff so I also bring them a donation. I used to work out in Santa Rosa and the local thrift shops (Salvation Army, Goodwill) were very expensive. If you are traveling in this area, the two best locations are the Goodwill on Market in San Francisco and Eco Thrift on Redwood in Vallejo.
