Description

The listing, Compaq AERO 4/33 has ended.

How old can a laptop be? I think this one comes as close as you can get.
With it's 255MB hard drive and a whole 4K of RAM, this laptop will handle only the very basic letter writing and ultra basic games originally packed within DOS 3.1. This laptop has ONLY 1 PCMCIA type 2 slot. No Floppy drive, no CD drive, no USB.
There are a serial port, DVI, and Com port across the back. Comes with the AC power supply, and the battery quit charging quite some time ago.

With the right RAM upgrade, it could be made to run Windows 95 or Linux.

Winner pays shipping. Flat fee USPS is $11 but I'll ship by whatever carrier you prefer.
Questions & Comments
Original
If anyone here followed the laptop maisel had, this one is older. It has Windows 3.1 on it, vintage 1995 or so.
This cannot be made to run windows 98, XP, Vista, or 7.
Just want to make sure everyone knows that this is an O-L-D computer.
It is fully functional, but as stated...
NO USB
NO CD
NO FLOPPY
NO MODEM
NO ETHERNET
It does have a PC card slot that works.

Local pick up is an option in the posting, so sure!
To make it easier for you, I can meet you near the Oakdale mall if you prefer. That's close to the highway for easy on/easy off access.

There is actually one older that I know of. Same model, but a 4/25.
The 4/25 is 1993 I believe, so this is later '93 or '94.

I probably should have seen if any museums wanted it before I listed it...

I have not tried this, but you would need a PC slot card to do it. I suppose you could use a PC slot to USB adapter and do just about anything.
Just understand that this in not a new computer. It's about 14-15 years old.

O-L-D. I don't see a manufacturing date or datecode on it, but I did find an old service bulletin dated October 1995.
The website below has some pretty extensive info on it.

If the bids go high enough, I was toying with adding the PCMCIA card I have and an adapter. The 256MB card DOUBLES the storage!

Looks as good as the one I just sold on Listia. You could use this to play hundreds of old dos games from the 80s ( www.oldschooldos.com ).

The funny thing is that it's about the size of the "new" mini laptops.
Everything works too!
