It is important that this plant NOT dry out before it is well-established

I recommend initial planting be in a large pot until roots have converted and established. Use a good soil mixed with potting medium for best results. Keep soil saturated daily for a week to ten days then reduce it to 2 to 3 times a week, then weekly. After a couple weeks, you can then transfer your plant to the out of doors.using the same watering principle.

After it is established, keep an eye on your plant, if it wilts add water. It is normal for the plant to wilt or withdraw on extremely hot days then revive during the night. However, do not let it starve for water as this is an extremely hungry plant.

Select a sunny or mostly sunny spot for best results. Apply a time-release fertilizer every 2 or three months.

Most likely, your plant will not bloom its first year. In the fall, after frost, cut the plant down to the ground. It will come back the following year.
