I see those cards and it reminds me of some great memories I have of at least half of the list of players included in this lot. They played for the Fort Wayne Wizards and I worked concessions and I popped fresh popcorn at every game there. At the end of the night I would have leftover popcorn and other concessions had leftover food that we would normally throw away. Well the boss and I was talking and I said instead of throwing them away let's give it to the players. At the time some of these guys were only making 50-75 a game. Not really a whole lot. So boss said that was a great idea. He said since you came up with idea you can take it to them yourself. So I did and I got to know these guys. They were decent guys for the most part but we all can have bad days. One time they had played a tough game and when I brought them food they had just gotten out of shower and as I set all the food down for them they all scrambled for it. Towels were a flying and naked as Jay birds was the funniest thing I saw lol. Those guys played tough and I will always be proud of the way they were for the city of Fort Wayne, In. Just a little humor and thinking back to a day. I appreciate you listing this card lot on here. Thanks for stirring up some very fond memories my friend-Shane

That's a cool memory... minor league baseball is still the best way to enjoy the true essence of the sport.

Yes it is. It's because they are mostly kids trying to prove themselves and don't have big money contracts yet. Therefore, they are still grounded to earth and just grateful fans want their autograph. I will tell you another funny story. I met Torri Hunter during that time and I had stopped at my favorite dealer across the street about a block away from stadium and bought a bunch of his cards. I ran into him that night and asked if he would mind signing a card or two that I had of his and he said you got baseball cards of me? I said yeah I got about 15 cards of you with multiples and 3 other players heard that and they wanted to see them so they all gathered in commissary where I was putting my popcorn equipment away for the night. My supervisor allowed this now, so I bring them out to show em off and they were in awe. Special moment was when I showed him all these cards and he said why you got so many of same card of me for? I said because I think you have alot of potential and I hope you go far in Majors. I said I'll make a deal with you if you will sign some of these cards I will give you one of each card I have of you. I gave him 5 of his own rookie cards and asked him to sign only 5 of the ten I had left. He gladly did sign and thanked me for it. I told him he made one of the best defensive plays I've ever saw in my life. We talked every time he saw me after that and would occasionally get a handful of popcorn. Just a public service announcement, buy popcorn at stadiums where it's popped in front of you if you can, otherwise popcorn at stadiums can be up to 3 days old. Just more nostalgic baseball talk lol. I love it. Thanks-Shane
