The listing, Terrific Lot: 6 Indian Head Pennies from the 1890's: 1890 1892 1893 1897 1898 1899 has ended.
Auction: 6 Indian Head Pennies, dates 1890, 1892, 1893, 1897, 1898, and 1899. Picture 1 shows the obverse picture of the lot.
ALL coins in the lot have strong dates, good lettering, good rims (defects I can ascertain are specified below), & good-to-excellent detail. Three have no LIBERTY and are in good to G+ condition, while one is VG and one is F+ to VF-, as described below.
Pictures 2 and 3 show the 1890. It is in G condition. I see some tee-tiny dings between 2:00 and 5:00 on the obverse, which I don't consider to be serious, although there is a gouge near the Indian's eye that does diminish the coin's value somewhat. There is also a very small gouge between the F and A in O/F A/MERICA.
Pictures 4 and 5 show the 1892, which grades G w/some damage. This coin has some staining, mild pitting, & a noticeable ding at 11:00 on the obverse & some tiny ones @ 6:00-7:00 on the reverse, although the reverse is in better condition than the obverse.
Pictures 6 and 7 show the 1893, which is VG. The TY can be seen in LIBERTY, & the ER is trying to pop through. This coin has both some staining and toning (toning is fine, staining not so much).
Pictures 8 and 9 show the 1897, in G condition. The coin has a reddish-brown tint, but I suspect that this coin has been cleaned because its tone is not commensurate w/its condition.
Pictures 10 and 11 show the 1898, which I grade to be G+. It is a very nice coin all the way around w/out complications.
Pictures 12 and 13 show the 1899, which has a full LIBERTY, although it's not 100% strong. I grade it as VF-, since the VF criteria in the Red Book states, "Slight but even wear on LIBERTY." It could be debated that the coin is F+.
All Listia rules apply. No international shipping. Coins will be shipped in 2x2s w/mylar coverings & w/tracking.
