This is a 1909 Canandian Large Cent.

The earliest pennies were actually shipped to Canada, but minted in England. It wasn't until 1908 that Canadian pennies were actually minted within Canada.

Today marks the demise of the Canadian Penny. Any and all Canadian pennies in circulation will be making their way to the incinerator, never to be seen again. The only Canadian pennies that will remain are those that have been kept from either the avid collector, or the people who stashed a few away for sentimental value. Goodbye Penny, you will always be loved by many.
