just at the local coin shop and was told they didn't make silver state quarters. not sure the old man knows what he's talking about anymore, also was told my 92 silver quarter wasn't silver without weighing it or looking at the edge

The coin shop doesn't know what he's talking about. US Mint started making 90% silver proof dimes, quarters and half dollars in 1992. They come in Silver Proof Sets. The Red Book of coins will tell anyone that. You can also google it or go on ebay and see lots of them for sale.

thanks for confirming what I thought, it sucks because it's the only coin shop I have here locally, he never even opens a book and throws numbers at you that are way off then tells you he doesn't even want to buy them, I guess I'll be sticking to feebay
