Description

The listing, White Fruiting Mulberry Seeds! Fast Growing Shade Tree with edible Fruit! has ended.

White mulberries when ripe have a sweet nutty flavor. makes great jam or can be dried and eaten that way. chewy and crunchy at the same time.

You will get a zip lock filled with mulberries. Each mulberry fruit has lots of seeds in it. They are still white and not quite ripe but will be in a few weeks. You can plant the whole berry and will be guaranteed to have spoutlings with them.

Fruiting Mulberry trees can be cut back to the trunk each fall and will not produce fruit the following spring. Or you can let them grow year after year and get thousands of mulberries.

Species

The white mulberry (Morus alba) is native to eastern and central China, but became naturalized in North America when it was introduced by the early colonists for silkworm production; it is regarded as a weed tree in many parts of the country.

Description

All mulberry species are deciduous, but they vary as to when they leaf out. The leaves of the white mulberry appear in early spring, weeks before those of the black mulberry. The mulberry's oval leaves are a bright, glossy green and irregularly lobed, turning yellow in the fall. White mulberries can reach 80 feet, and can also be pyramidical or weeping in form. White mulberry may produce fruit for hundreds of years.

great auction. watching, as many seeds being offer the winner should have no problem producing both male and female seedlings

not sure how they work. all the seedlings I have ever seen from this tree produce fruit. I didn't even know there were male/female trees until someone mentioned it on here. :) All the Mulberry seedlings I have listed are fruiting ones. :)

my MIL had a mulberry tree by her front door in Caruthers, they taste soooo good right off the tree, and make great jams and preserves or dried or in cobbler !! but they can make an awful mess to walk in, esp. the red and black ones. hopefully the whites are not as bad :)

cool car, is it a '56 or 57? and the tree would probably be considered heirloom due to how long ago it was planted, only pure stock available then for the most part, they were not hybridizing a whole lot yet, at least with the mulberries

57 Ford Custom 300. Daily driver updated with modern engine, suspension, drivetrain and other assorted goodies. still looks stock from the outside. ;)

Thanks for the info. I never thought of it that way before but you are probably right. It's the only one i know of within several miles of me. All the rest, even the one in the backyard is fruitless.

don't know if she was correct but my grandmother said that there were male and female mulberry trees, and only the female bore fruit, we had one in N Michigan that never bore fruit either,
