Probably Mexican silver. Good photos. Thx for putting up so many. Just clarifying what I see --- looks like there is definitely some wear & tear / chipping around the edges of the inlay. Would you say that is a correct observation or how woud you describe the condition of the thimble?

I just thought it was in the workman ship, I just looked more closely, & took EVEN MORE pictures of the faults. They don't appear to be chips, but ill post and let you be the judge. Thanks for the info about Mexican silver...never heard of it!? The apartment my Mother moved into, belonged to an elderly woman who had passed away, her kids took what they wanted and left a lot of nick nacks etc., this was one of them. I got it when my Mom passed cause I thought it was pretty and so unique. Not my style though...

FYI - You have a combination of abalone AND Mother-of-Pearl (that's the ivory colored flower and possibly around the sides in a few pieces).

Oh, thanks for taking the time to tell me that? It's refreshing to know there are still some really thoughtful and kind!! I have just dealt with one of the worse sellers Ive come across!!!! Contacted me saying they had Xbox codes ant amount I wanted. & offered to do GIN. Turned out they had no codes at all!!!! I emailed them countless times & got no reply. I begged them to contact me. They did & said they didn't actually have any codes!!!!!! But would go to Target the next day and get sone. Still nothing....I emailed around 2pm and if course no reply, I kept emailing.....finally after 5 emails, they then said their wife was supposed to buy them on Amazon (what happened to Target!!??) he also said that he had gone to Target the night before he said he would go the next day??? He said that their Amazon acct was in hold (not likely), and so they could not give me my points, this is digitAl delivery...you should receive that day or the next...this is day 3. So after countless more emails and no reply for hours. They said all they had were Amazon gift cards $25. I asked how many pints could I get for that? No reply, but they said they could send $20 gift card. I replied you said $25, then $20which is it?? No reply ( shocking I know!!) for 2 hours, after I said that would be fine. They replied they would give me $25 gift card....my question is why on earth if they had the card why the heck didn't they put it in the email??? I asked ... Again no reply & then found that they'd BLOCKED ME!!!!!!! Unreal!!!!
