The listing, Sigmund Freud - Civilization and It's Discontents / The Standard Edition - Read Once! has ended.
This auction is for (1) paperback book titled "Civilization and It's Discontents," by Sigmund Freud.
Newly designed in a uniform format, each new paperback in the Standard Edition opens with a biographical essay on Freud's life and work - along with a note on the individual volume - by Peter Gray, Sterling Professor of History at Yale.
During the summer of 1929, Freud worked on what became this seminal volume of twentieth-century thought. It stands as a brilliant summary of the views on culture from a psycho-analytic perspective that he had been developing since the turn of the century. It is both witness and tribute to the late theory of mind - the so-called structural theory, with its stress on aggression, indeed the death drive, as the pitiless adversary of eros.

Book has only been read one time! I am very careful with my personal books, so very light crease to binder that is barely noticeable. No other marks, writing or anything like that, Inside the back corner, in the upper right, there is a very tiny sticker from where I bought the book. That's it! Book measures 7" x 4 1/4".
Please note: I do not do pick-ups. I will ONLY ship within the U.S. - however - I will cover shipping!
Thanks so much for looking and enjoy! Is a good read - or even a good present!
