Smal: 5/6 Medium: 7/8 Large: 9/10 Extra Large: 11/12

I may ask for exact measurements, or they can be offered if you feel you have an unusual size. They have good stretch, and could possibly be shrunk in the wash. I am certain your pair will fit you perfect.

They could, but not to walk long distances. Depending on the yarn I use, they will be very machine washable. The cotton is really durable. I would say just to go out to the mailbox, around the deck, or maybe on a few quick errands. :)
