The easiest to grow of all the towering flowers; foxglove's tall spikes are covered with tubular flowers of purple, yellow, pink, and white - all wtih speckled throats. Blooms late spring to summer, the year after planting. (NOTE: All parts of plant are poisonous if eaten.) Biennials form a rosette of leaves the first year and bloom, go to seed and die in the second year.
PLanting Instructions:
Plant seeds outdoors 2 to 3 weeks before the last frost in soil enriched with compost.(Seeds may be started indoors 8 weeks earlier.) Sow seeds sparsely and keep moist until seedlings are established. Water when the top 1-inch layer of soil is dry. Fertilize monthly. Cut off main flower spike when it fades to promote second blooming. Plants re-seed themselves.
