Description

The listing, 200 Agastasche 'Blue Fortune' Seeds - 2010 has ended.

This is a 3 foot to 4 foot tall native perennial member of the mint family that is also known as Anise Hyssop or Licorice Mint. It smells strongly of licorice and shows its initial dark purple fuzzy leaves above ground when the Hyacinths and Daffodils bloom in Spring. It is drought tolerant and needs full sun. Licorice Mint spreads each year as well as re-seeding and attracts Butterflies, Bees, Hummingbirds and seed-eating birds. Check out the photos for the Butterfly and Bees. I couldn't convince the Hummer to pose! ;-)

Ohhh... YES! You won't believe how many seeds these guys put out (if you get them before the birds do!). Did you ever see an old Sci-Fi/Horror flick called, "Day of the Triffids" ? Ok - just kidding; it's not THAT bad. They come up every year, spread a bit, AND produce plenty of seeds. The seeds are pretty tiny for such a big perennial, so you will get much more than 200. You can thank me next Autumn lol! ;-)

Oops! I spelled this wrong. Take out the second "s". It should be Agastache.

Good luck! They're one of my favorite no-hassle plants. I gave some to my best friend and we planted some at his church. I've also sold them at my local aquarium club auction several times.
