Description

The listing, G.I. Joe Baroness (V1) Destro (V1) w/ acessories and cards has ended.

You are bidding on Two G. I. Joe figures.

Destro (v1) was released carded as part of the second series (1983). He was sold in 1984 and 1985, and was discontinued domestically in 1986.

This is the variation with the date stamp in the leg and the G. I. Joe logo on the file card.

Destro comes with his original Backpack and File card, I will include a blaster pistol with the figure that is similar to his original, however this piece is missing, all the screws and band have been replaced, the joints are tight, but there is some wear on the paint around his wristbands.

The Baroness was first released carded as part of the third series (1984). She was available in 1985 and was discontinued domestically in 1986.

Baroness comes with her original filecard and backpack, this version came packaged with a red rifle instead of the typical black There is some very minor damage to the cobra logo on her chest plate. The Back screw and band have been replaced on baroness, her leg screws are rounded and I can not replace them, however all her joints are very tight.

Both figures in this condition average 20.00 dollars apiece without accessories. (Locally at least).

Both figures are in great condition for their age, feel free to ask any questions.

Baroness never came with a red rifle--that was available in Accessory Pack #3 from 1985.

Okay, I poked around on yojoe.com to see if anybody knew about this variant. Here's a response from one user:
"If it's a variant, it's the only one in existence. It's the same shade as the Accessory Pack one. I'd go with it being the accessory pack one.

But here's the thing, why on Earth would anyone open a vintage MoC figure? It's worth more graded, especially if did have a red weapon in the package.

I'd be getting that thing AFA graded and insured because it would be worth hundreds if not thousands."

Hope you don't take offense.

No offense taken since you asked, I prefer to display my figures on a shelf holding their accessories, I don't collect these figures with the intent of reselling them, so their carded value means nothing to me. I collect figures I owned as a kid, however the recent releases of figures over the past few years has had the classic costumes with modern articulation making displaying more attractive and still giving me the nostalgia I'm looking for without blowing massive amounts of money. Instead of boxing them away I am passing them on.
As for Baroness and the red rifle, if it's not factory issued and absolutely never was then it's possible I got an after market repack, but I stand by my word, when I pulled her off the card, she had a red rifle, I thought nothing about it at the time and I highly doubt I got a one of a kind figure for thirty bucks.

Before I blow all my credits on this one can you please post pics of the actual figures. Also, have any uncut cardbacks? Thanks!

The file cards were clipped from the original backs.

So for those keeping score at home, whether or not this Baroness was packaged with her Red Rider BB Gun is really irrelevant since she is no longer on card. It is safe for you to assume this is a red rifle from the accessory pack #3 which was molded after Baroness's black rifle, I probably was sold an after market repack with the wrong gun.
