Description

The listing, 1908 Liberty "V" Nickel- Gold Colored!!! has ended.

Here is a rare Liberty nickel and hard to find.Looks like a fine condition coin or better. You grade it.Winner gets the one shown.I had many V nickels in the past and this is the first gold colored one I ever had!Free shipping.Good luck.

Type: Liberty Head V Nickel
Year: 1908
Mint Mark: No mint mark
Face Value: 0.05 USD
Total Produced: 22,684,000 [?]
Silver Content: 0%
Numismatic Value: $2.5 to $135
Value: As a rough estimate of this coins value you can assume this coin in poor condition will be valued at somewhere around $2.5, while one in "perfect" condition can bring $135. This price does not reference any standard coin grading scale. So when we say poor, we mean worn more than would be expected from a coin in this age, and perfect meaning it looks "perfect" without flaw and possibly even certified.

Most of the racketeer gold plated V Nickels were done to the 1883, without the word "Cents" on the reverse. These were passed off as $5 gold pieces. That's why the Mint added the word cents, in the latter part of 1883. Not saying that some racketeers(not known to be too sharp) in later years, didn't try to do the same thing. That would make this pretty rare!
