i really really want these. A hospital here in california called Shriners take these and for every 1 they provide 1 minute of surgery for a patient because all of the doctors and nurses that work there are all volunteer. This hospital saved my baby cousin (at 15 months) from burns hes had up to 6 surgeries with 2nd and 3rd degree burns and this hospital practically saved his life. I want to do all i can to give back. I gope i win this!

I see that you copied the little man. Did you figure out how to make the upside down ?. Maybe one of your fans knows. You sure have a lot of comments on these pop tops. I used to give them to Ronald McDonald house too, but there is no place around here now. I think you should do what you want with your own items and if someone wants them to donate, they can bid on them and give them away.
You are cool and we are already friends.

Can I just say I think this person is a very kind and generous person, I have seen how much and how many chrities she has given too and I really hope none of you think of her as being selfish for putting these on here, not every town and every state has the same items that are collected for good causes, but, i know there are alot of good causes out there that need peoples donations so if you want these to donate then bid but if you only want to come in here and complain about this person not donating then go to another auction, anything posted on listia could be donated someplace or another so complain to someone giving away clothes or shoes, or just stop complaining altogether, wouldnt that be better..

I'm President of a Recycle Club and because we have "been there done that" we know the best way to ultimately help the environment is to repurpose things. Therefore it is preferable in my view to repurpose pop/beer tabs by making them into jewelry. Plus this 10 0z bag of pop/beer tabs offered on this auction is worth less than 10 cents when recycled to the smelter, therefore winning this auction, then making jewelry out of these tabs and reselling them would reap a lot more cash for you to donate to the hospitals or charity of choice.

OMG! Just read the tip on comments here about making door hangars out of tabs! That would be so cool to make out of tabs colored with perm markers as they come out irridescent, they would catch the light in day or night like the old glass and plastic beeded door hangars used to.....

Nice auction - if you google it, there are alot of crafts one could make out of these I have always saved them and awhile back I listed a bunch on here - the little old lady I use to save them for made the cutest little purses, wristlets and coin purses out of these to pay her taxes - she was so crafty and it kept her busy and in her own home >.<

I'm sorry but it seems that you may have (along with everyone else) taken my comment wrong. I hope you did not think I was saying you should do a charity auction, or donate to any charity for that matter. I was simply making a statement saying I never knew there were other organizations that use these for charities. & since I've learned of so many other causes just by reading the comments on your auction maybe I should list a charity auction. Or maybe I could send the ones I have to one of those charities that they were talking about. Not that I'm implying that you or anybody else should do it. I really hope it wasn't my comment that sparked up all of these defensive comments, but if it was my comment I do apologize, it was not intended to sound like a suggestion, it was more like I was thinking out loud (or typing out loud, lol). I was just thinking "wow, this was a great idea". In other words, I Like Your Auction!

I used to save these tabs for Ronald McDonald House, but lost my connection to them. I will start saving them again. People donate and give of themselves in different ways, however feels right for them (just like no two angel's wings are exactly the same). As long as we remember that the giving is the important part, then we'll all end up with a smile in our heart.( :

I'm perplexed as to why peeps are coming on here about donating to hospitals, just go then, why do we need to hear about it on an auction? "shrugging shoulders"
Also, interesting side note, many orgs started collecting aluminum cans from those who out of the goodness in their hearts donated them, the donaters even went around collecting cans in their community for the orgs and then the orgs found out it wasn't going to be as lucrative as they thought in the end due to the bulkiness and price of gas to haul them so they discontinued the can drives. Then orgs got the brilliant idea to just solicit donations of the tabs but found that was even less lucrative so discontinued that as well. A lot of this we're hearing today about charities and miscellaneous orgs wanting tabs is an urband legend that nobody wants to let go of.....LOL

On a side note...the tab jewelry got me to thinking about this.....I do hope MzBrenda doesn't mind if I ask, but does anyone know if those plastic carrier rings that hold soda and beer cans together, have a use for crafting jewelry? I know they can be used for starting barbecues instead of starter fluid but if jewelry could somehow....someway..... be crafted using the rings, that would be great! If MzBrenda thinks it would distract from this auction I totally apologise. Maybe if someone has ideas they could email me on Listia. I would like to discuss this at my next Recycle Club meeting. Thanks.

The childrens hospital in Indy takes these also. I remember in the early 70's these were strung together to make doorway curtains. They looked really neat. In a pinch they can be used as picture hangers. As for the bullies, just this sentence is giving them too much attention! You know your heart and those of us with eyes and a heart for looking out for others can see where you are coming from. I pity the bully- to go thru life in that mindset is a sad sad thing.
