Description

The listing, ***GO GREEN with SOAPNUTS*** Special GIN Offer has ended.

Are you tired of worrying about the chemicals that are in your laundry detergent? Well here's the all natural economical answer to your dilemma. SOAPNUTS!!!

"Soap nuts contain saponin, a natural detergent which is used to clean clothes. They are not only safe for washing silks, woolens and other delicate fabrics but can tackle your toughest loads too. Soapnuts are antimicrobial and are beneficial for septic systems and grey water. "

There is no need for fabric softener as the saponin also softens your clothes and leaves them smelling clean and fresh.

Just add 5-7 soapnuts (depending on size. Larger nuts use 5) to a small cotton/muslin bag and place in your washer. Best used with warm - hot water. Do NOT over load your washing machine, good agitation is needed to activate the soapnuts/saponin.

If you have hard water, I suggest adding a liquid water softener like calgon and if you would like to whiten your clothes, a liquid bleach of some sort, ie; oxyclean, chlorox2 or regular chlorine bleach.

If you prefer your clothes to have a fragrance, you can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to a wet washcloth in your dryer to make them smell purty! *smile*

*Caution-Please Read*

As with a chemical cleanser, soap nuts (in all forms) should be kept out of reach of children and pets. Soap nuts are NOT consumable and are harmful if eaten.

***INCLUDED IN AUCTION***

5 Pre-Packaged Bags of Soapnuts (enough for approx. 30 loads of laundry)
1 cotton muslin bag
Instructions for use

**Special GIN Offer**

If you use the GIN option, I will double the amount of soapnuts, which gives you double the amount of loads of laundry.

Please feel free to ask any questions. I will answer as quickly and accurately as I can.

Thanks for looking, happy bidding and God bless

My wife just started using Soap Nuts to do our laundry. They are truly amazing. 4-6 soap nuts cracked in half in a little tiny bag will do anywhere from 4-7 loads of laundry and you don't need dryer sheets! The smell of the soap nuts are great! Clothes smell fresh (like they've been hanging out to dry). These are great!

Good for you guys!!! I can't say enough good stuff about soapnuts. They are sooo amazing!

Not only do they do your laundry but you can just about clean anything with them that you would clean with commercial soap!

Have you guys thought about using the essential oil in your dryer for a fragrance. I agree about the smell and softness even without dryer sheets. Our clothes never seemed to smell good even if we hung them out unless we used fabric softener. Now they do, even without.

Welcome to Listia and thanks for stopping by. Fanned ya back! God bless

Sweetie, you are entirely welcome, my pleasure. ;o) This is my 3rd one and everyone seems to love them This is first one that hasn't been GINned right off the bat. heheh

I love talking about them because they are so eco-friendly and that they are basically hypo-allergenic too. Besides, yakking on here about soapnuts keeps me busy. *grin*

I am listing one more this month. I will put it up right after this one. Hopefully you will have the credits saved up by then. Good luck and God bless

Okay, I really am thinking about GIN on these. However are they already deseeded? If not can I grow them? aND IF i DO gin ANY CHANCE YOU WOULD NOT ONLY DOUBLE but TRIPLE THE AMOUNT INSTEAD OF JUST DOUBLING? i WILL check back here shortly to see what your reply is or feel free to email me here on lista, so we can talk! Thanks , Karla

They are deseeded. It is done at the wholesale facility after they make sure they are dried. The seeds don't have the saponin, just the shells. Also the seeds leave stains on clothing.

I am offering free shipping if you GIN and the bonus stands at double. You'll be getting enough to do 60 loads of laundry.

I can bet, if you google "grow your own soapnuts" or something of the sort, you will find someone who is selling them. Just be careful that they are reputable.

Hope this helps Karla.

God bless from another Carla ;o)

Wow, these sound amazing!! :O)
But I have a few questions... Do you know if they can be used with vinegar? I usually use white vinegar in my laundry, and I would hate the nuts to be "eaten up" by the vinegar. Also, how do these fair in front loaders on the delicate cycle? Will that provide enough agitation for them to work properly?
Thanks so much- definately watching this auction!! :o)

Hi, really good questions. Ok, we'll start with the vinegar. You really don't need it with soapnuts. If you use it as a anti-microbial, soapnuts already has that as one of it's benefits. If you use it as a softener for you clothes, you won't need to cuz the saponin does that too. But, as far as I know, it won't hurt the soapnuts. to put vinegar in your wash. Your clothes even have a vinegary smell after you wash them with soapnuts. ;o) When dried though, usually just a fresh clean smell. Personally, we like fragrance on our clothes and use several different kinds of fragrance oils to make the clothes smell good!

As far as a front loader. I don't have any experience with soapnuts with them. But they don't suds up so you wouldn't have to worry about that. Agitation? hmmm Well, guess it would depend on your machine and what cycle you use. The most important thing to remember with soapnuts is to NOT stuff your machine!!!

I'm so glad you like them. Hope you bid! Have fun! God bless

heheh, thanks for asking. At this time I'm only "selling" on Listia. If I can find a supplier that will sell cheaply enough to invest some money in then I will open a webstore but right now they all want me to buy a LOT of them at time and that I can't afford. *smile* Hey, bid on these, if you GIN you get around 60 loads of laundry. That's a lot. *smile* Thanks for asking. God bless

brendalraus, to make sure you get them, you can always use GIN :-) That's what I did on a previous auction. You get TWICE as many nuts and it's definitely worth it! JMTCW ;-)

From me heheh Seriously, they grow on trees and when they are ripe they are harvested. Then they are deseeded, dried and ready to use. If you do buy them somewhere else, just make sure yours are deseeded. Thanks for asking. God bless

so how is it rinsed if you leave them in? residue? maybe cause rash or itching like when a person puts too much soap in washer and it doesn't get rinsed good.
Apr 28th, 2012 at 9:20:11 AM PDT by
Original
There is ALWAYS residue in your clothes from anything you put in your water. All I can tell you is that my son in law is allergic to a LOT of commercial laundry products and since we've been using soapnuts (whether we leave them in or don't) he hasn't had any more problems.

The only way someone would be able to tell if they were allergic is by actually using the soapnuts themselves.

If you want to know more, try googling soapnuts. You will find tons of info on them.

God bless

so, I would guess after the was cycle a person has to find them and take them out before the rinse cycle?
Apr 28th, 2012 at 8:42:12 AM PDT by
Original
Good question. As a rule, the more you "use" them the faster you have to replace them. If we remember, we take them out, but if not, it won't hurt them (especially in cold rinse water) or your clothes. Thanks for stopping by. God bless
