Ultimately you have to stick the card into your machine and see what happens. That's the true test. I've been playing "Dishonored" with a new video card for days, runs flawlessly in my system on the highest setting. Then tonight two diagnostic websites

http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri

like that one says that with my system the game won't run at all. So you really don't know until you install it. My system us just under spec for "Dishonored" according to all the websites but it does in fact run fine on my system. You have to wonder how much of all this spec talk is just about getting people to shell out money on the latest gadget.

The main issue I have with new cards is that they often require extra power. This card doesn't require any extra power supply. A modern new gaming card does. This makes installing a high-end card more of a hassle. Also newer cards need a heavier duty power supply to run them. As far as I know there's no way to check the wattage on your rig (how much power the power supply has) other than taking it apart and looking at the label. This card will run on just about any rig because it doesn't suck up a lot of power. Newer cards do. When I got my new card I had to upgrade the power supply twice- I started out with 500 watts then went to 700 and finally had to get a 900 watt!

I can't say whether or not this card will run a particular game or effect because it's also a factor of the motherboard, the memory, the power supply, the monitor, the processor, etc.

This card is more for watching movies, doing photoshop work, or playing older games. With a nice rig like you've got, you probably want to play new games. That would require a higher-end card than this. You'll probably have to get a card with a fan and extra power. If there is a particular game taht you want to play, go on that game's forums and ask what other players recommend as a setup. This is especially true if you're playing multiplayer games. With multiplayer games you'll be competing against other players and so you want a rig that will pass muster!

Just curious, what power supply is needed for this?
Nov 7th, 2012 at 12:04:44 PM PST by

This card doesn't need any extra power hookups other that what it gets from the pci-e slot so I think basically it should work with just about any power supply. Of course that depends on what other stuff you've got hooked up too.

Excellent question! I just looked in the computer I took the card out of and there it is! I forgot to take it out along with the card. So yes, it does have the L bracket. I will take it out of the computer. I'll do it tomorrow, it's getting too late to do it tonight!

OK I took out the L Bracket from the computer that this card was in. I couldn't get the screws to line up when I put the L bracket on the card. I'm all thumbs when it comes to things like this. I will include the L bracket in the auction and will post a photo. This computer is the first time I've switched out a video card. I was very proud of myself when I took this card out and got the new one in and working!

Have to ask this. Would this GPU be able to handle specs of games like World of Tanks?
Nov 4th, 2012 at 1:48:43 PM PST by

You have to look up the what the card(s) for that game are and then compare this card to those. Every game has different requirements. Usually there's two levels of specs for games- the "minimum" required and the "recommended".

OK I looked up the specs for World of Tanks and here they are:

Operating system: Windows XP/Vista/7
Processor (CPU): 2 Core 3 GHz
Memory(RAM): 4 GB or more
Video Card: GeForce 9800 with 512 MB of RAM / ATI 4850 with 512 MB RAM, DirectX 9.0c
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible Free hard disk space: 5.9 GB
Internet connection speed: 1024 Kbps or higher (for voice chat)

This card is a 4350. Pretty close! My guess is that it MIGHT work but I'm not guaranteeing anything. It depends on the rest of the system, like if you've got a dual core running at 3 GHz.

For the record, this card has not been used much at all. It might as well be new for as much as it has been used.
